Pakistan Condemns Houthi Threats Against Saudi Arabia and Red Sea Shipping

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Pakistan has strongly condemned threats issued by the Houthi rebels against Saudi Arabia and maritime navigation in the Red Sea, calling such threats unacceptable.

The spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office said that any threat to Saudi Arabia or commercial shipping vessels would not be tolerated. The spokesperson warned that any danger posed to Pakistani-flagged ships would be considered a threat to Pakistan’s national security. Pakistan also reaffirmed its right to take all necessary and lawful measures to protect its maritime interests.

The Foreign Office spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s strong support for Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Pakistan called for ensuring the safety of navigation in the Red Sea and maintaining the continuity of global trade.

The spokesperson urged all parties to respect international law, avoid escalation, and work toward reducing tensions in the region.

The statement came after Houthi rebels announced a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia. US President Donald Trump also warned that if the Houthis carried out their threat to block the Red Sea, the United States would take action and respond accordingly.
