Wasim Abbas Confirms Divorce from Saba Hameed After 29-Year Marriage

Islamabad: (ShowbizDesk) – Veteran Pakistani actor Wasim Abbas has confirmed that he and fellow actor Saba Hameed ended their 29-year marriage, revealing that the two had been living separately for the past 14 years before their divorce was formally finalised.

In a recent interview, Abbas said the separation was amicable and that there was never any bitterness between the former couple. Despite living apart, he said they continued to work together on different projects and occasionally met as friends.

Wasim Abbas and Saba Hameed were long regarded as one of Pakistan’s most respected celebrity couples, admired for their successful careers and strong public image. Abbas said he would have no hesitation in working with Saba Hameed again if offered a suitable role.

Speaking about the decision to divorce, Abbas said he felt neither sadness nor regret, explaining that the emotional connection needed to sustain a marriage had faded over time. He also clarified that the couple had no children together.

The actor said he has always maintained a warm relationship with Saba Hameed’s family and believes that mutual respect is more important than love in any relationship. According to him, the couple chose to end their marriage with dignity and never spoke negatively about one another in the media.

Reflecting on his second marriage, Abbas said it appeared to be the right decision at the time, though he later felt it may not have been the best choice. However, he said he has no regrets about the way the relationship ended.

When asked whether he planned to marry again, Abbas ruled out the possibility. He said he is now a grandfather, lives with his children, and his first wife also resides in the same house, making another marriage unnecessary in his view.
