Telecom Regulator Undertakes Major Digital Infrastructure Enhancement

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has initiated a major network upgrade aimed at improving the stability, security, reliability, and overall performance of its digital infrastructure and online services.

According to the telecom regulator, the upgrade process began at 5:00 PM on June 24, 2026, and is scheduled to continue until 6:00 AM on June 25, 2026.

PTA stated that the maintenance activity is part of its ongoing efforts to modernize digital systems and enhance the quality of services offered to consumers, businesses, and telecom stakeholders across Pakistan.

During the scheduled upgrade window, services related to the Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) may experience temporary interruptions or limited availability. As a result, users attempting to register mobile devices online could face delays while accessing the platform.
