Petrol Prices in Pakistan Likely to by Rs15 in Pakistan

Pakistan Expected to Reduce Petrol Prices After Global Oil Decline

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Pakistani consumers could soon receive major relief at fuel stations as petroleum product prices are expected to decline by up to Rs15 per litre following a sharp drop in international oil prices.

Market reports released on Friday showed significant reductions in ex-refinery prices for both petrol and diesel ahead of the government’s next fuel price adjustment.

According to industry data, the ex-refinery price of diesel has decreased by Rs31 per litre, while petrol prices at the refinery level have fallen by Rs8.54 per litre, increasing expectations of lower retail prices across the country.

However, reports noted that the premium on petrol imports rose by around $2.90 per barrel, pushing the overall premium from $17.44 to $20.34 per barrel.

The increase in premiums is expected to partially offset the benefits of falling global crude oil prices, though analysts still anticipate an overall reduction in domestic fuel prices.

The expected price cut is likely to provide some relief to consumers and businesses already dealing with inflationary pressures and high transportation costs.

The final decision regarding revised petroleum prices will be announced by the government after reviewing international market trends and applicable tax adjustments.
