ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Annual Planning Coordination Committee (APCC) is scheduled to meet on June 1 to finalise recommendations for Pakistan’s federal development budget and broader economic strategy for the fiscal year 2026-27, according to official sources.
Sources said the Ministry of Finance has proposed a development budget ceiling of Rs1,126 billion for the upcoming fiscal year. Alongside the federal allocation, all provinces will prepare their own Annual Development Programmes (ADPs) focused on regional infrastructure and development priorities.

The APCC is also expected to formulate recommendations for the country’s annual economic plan, including proposed targets for economic growth, inflation, and sectoral performance.
Officials indicated that the government may set an economic growth target of 4 percent or higher for FY2026-27 as part of efforts to sustain economic recovery and strengthen productive sectors of the economy.
Recommendations are also likely to cover key sectors including agriculture, industry, and services, which play a central role in Pakistan’s economic activity and employment generation.
Inflation control is expected to remain a major focus during the discussions. According to sources, the committee may propose an average inflation target ranging between 8.2 and 8.6 percent for the next fiscal year in line with broader economic stabilisation efforts.
The APCC will review proposals submitted by ministries and relevant stakeholders before finalising its recommendations. The committee is also expected to assess the performance of the outgoing fiscal year’s development budget and economic plan to identify implementation progress and existing challenges.
Officials from the Ministry of Finance and the State Bank of Pakistan are expected to present economic assessments and policy perspectives during the session.
The committee will further examine budget allocations for federal ministries and divisions to ensure spending priorities remain aligned with available fiscal resources and national development objectives.
Once finalised, the APCC’s recommendations will be forwarded to the National Economic Council (NEC) for formal approval ahead of the presentation of the federal budget for FY2026-27.
