Army Chief’s Iran Trip Ends with Positive Diplomatic Breakthrough – ISPR
TEHRAN: (Web Desk) – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir wrapped up a brief yet significant official visit to Iran during a sensitive period marked by regional tensions after the April 8 2026 ceasefire.
During the trip the Field Marshal held important meetings with Iran’s top leadership as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts focused on reducing tensions and encouraging meaningful regional dialogue.
According to an official statement Field Marshal Asim Munir met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
Talks mainly centered on accelerating the consultation process aimed at strengthening peace and stability across the region while moving closer to a final agreement between concerned sides.

Officials described the meetings as positive and constructive saying they played a valuable role in advancing mediation efforts. The statement further noted that intensive discussions held over the previous twenty four hours produced encouraging developments toward a broader understanding.
Iranian leaders appreciated Pakistan’s balanced and sincere diplomatic engagement and acknowledged its efforts in supporting dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution in the region.
Upon his arrival in Iran Field Marshal Asim Munir was welcomed by Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni alongside senior civilian and military officials.
