Pakistan Kuwait Defence Agreement Signed To Expand Military Cooperation

Pakistan &  Kuwait – Pakistan and Kuwait have signed a new defence agreement to boost military ties between the two nations. The deal, called the Protocol Agreement-2026, was signed in Islamabad on Thursday.

This new pact builds on the earlier Defence Cooperation Agreement-2023. It focuses on training, capacity building, and better border management between both countries’ armed forces.

The Ministry of Defence shared the news in an official statement. It said the agreement will help both sides work closer on shared security goals.

A Kuwaiti delegation visited Pakistan for the signing. The team was led by Kuwait’s Defence Minister, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Saleem Al-Sabah.

He met his Pakistani counterpart, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, to discuss the details. Both leaders talked about defence relations and ways to improve security cooperation.

According to the ministry, Pakistan will now support Kuwait’s armed forces in several key areas. These include training programs, capacity building, and managing shared border concerns.

The statement also highlighted the trust between the two nations. It called the relationship a reflection of deep respect and shared strategic goals.

Officials from both sides agreed to keep strengthening this bond. They said the partnership will support peace and stability across the region.

Before the main signing, the Kuwaiti team also visited the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. There, they met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff.

This meeting focused on regional security and ways to deepen defence ties. Both sides spoke about improving institutional cooperation going forward.

The Inter-Services Public Relations office released details of this meeting. It said both countries want to build stronger, long-term military links.

The Kuwaiti delegation praised Pakistan’s armed forces during the visit. They spoke highly of their professionalism and role in supporting regional peace.

Officials from both nations called their relationship historic and brotherly. They expressed hope that this new step will lead to a stronger defence partnership.
