Opposition Leaders Voice Concerns Over PTI Founder’s Health

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai addressed the media following a consultative meeting with party leaders and legal experts regarding the legal cases and reported health concerns of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.

Barrister Gohar stated that the opposition leader received a detailed briefing from the PTI legal team about ongoing cases, humanitarian concerns, and the broader political situation in the country. He added that legal options were discussed during the meeting as the party evaluates its next course of action.

The PTI chairman expressed serious concern over the reported health condition of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, claiming that both had been shifted to hospitals multiple times without details being made public. He called for immediate access to the PTI founder and stressed that the party seeks its constitutional and legal rights.

He further announced that an opposition summit has been convened and said the matter would also be raised in parliament. Barrister Gohar alleged that PTI was facing discriminatory treatment and vowed to pursue the issue through all available legal and political forums.

Referring to ongoing court proceedings, he mentioned that the Islamabad High Court has scheduled final arguments in the £190 million case for May 20 and emphasized the importance of ensuring due legal process.

Speaking alongside him, Mahmood Khan Achakzai said the meeting reviewed legal developments and health-related concerns involving Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. He claimed restrictions had effectively been placed on meetings with the former prime minister and criticized the limitations on family and party visits.

Achakzai also alleged that both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were being moved to hospitals late at night and said the family had requested their transfer to Al-Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment. He warned that the opposition could raise the issue forcefully in the assembly and potentially disrupt proceedings.
