Private Schools Plan Legal Challenge Over Holidays

APPSA Opposes Early School Holidays, Plans Legal Action

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – The private education sector in Islamabad has announced plans to challenge the Punjab government’s decision to begin summer vacations for schools earlier than scheduled. The move comes amid growing concerns from school operators about its impact on academic continuity.

The All Pakistan Private Schools Association (APPSA) stated on Monday that the early closure of educational institutions could negatively affect students’ learning and disrupt the academic calendar.

APPSA President Dr. Ibrar Hussain said that repeated interruptions in schooling may increase the number of children falling out of the education system. He emphasized that such decisions could have long-term consequences for students’ future.

He further added that schools located in residential areas should be allowed to continue functioning, stressing the need for consistent educational access. His remarks came after an emergency meeting of the association held in the F-8 sector of Islamabad.

The meeting concluded with strong reservations over the government’s policy decisions regarding school closures and reaffirmed the association’s intention to pursue legal action.
