BEIJING: (Web Desk) – China has announced that it does not recognize or accept the United States’ sanctions related to the purchase of Iranian oil, describing them as unilateral and lacking international legal basis.
According to reports by Al Jazeera, Chinese officials said that such sanctions are not approved by the United Nations and therefore cannot be considered legitimate under international law. They added that China will not comply with these measures and will safeguard its energy security as well as the lawful rights of its domestic companies.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that normal trade activities with Iran fall within the scope of international law and should not be affected by external pressure or unilateral restrictions.
The announcement comes after the United States imposed sanctions on five Chinese companies, accusing them of purchasing Iranian oil in violation of US restrictions. Beijing has rejected these allegations and reiterated its opposition to what it calls extraterritorial sanctions.
