69 percent support Maryam Nawaz leadership in Punjab survey report

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – A new public opinion survey by the Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) shows strong approval for the performance of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, with 69% of respondents in Punjab expressing satisfaction with her leadership.

According to the report, 32% of participants rated her governance as “outstanding,” while 31% described it as “good.” The survey highlights particularly positive sentiment among younger respondents aged 18 to 40, with 69% of this group expressing approval of her leadership style.

The findings suggest that development initiatives have played a major role in shaping public perception, with 56% of respondents linking her rising popularity to ongoing infrastructure and development projects. Additionally, 55% said they would support her in future elections based on performance.

The survey also indicates that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) holds 42% popularity in Punjab.

Key areas of public approval include women’s welfare and protection (30%), public transport (29%), education (27%), and the “Suthra Punjab” cleanliness initiative, which received the highest approval at 33%. Improvements were also noted in law and order (26%) and infrastructure (25%).

The study, based on responses from 7,000 participants across rural and urban Punjab, included equal representation of men and women. It assessed public opinion on governance, sanitation, health, education reforms, inflation relief, transport, and cultural restoration initiatives such as Basant.

Overall, 65% of respondents believe Punjab is moving in the right direction, while 56% expressed satisfaction with sanitation and municipal services.
