PM Shehbaz updates China envoy on Middle East de-escalation efforts

PM Shehbaz meets China’s Ambassador, discusses economic support, CPEC projects, and regional stability

Pakistan & China – (Web Desk) – H.E. Jiang Zaidong, China’s Ambassador, met Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House today. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, SAPM Syed Tariq Fatemi, and the Foreign Secretary were also present.

The Prime Minister congratulated China on the successful completion of the “Two Sessions.” He also thanked President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and Foreign Minister Wang Yi for their warm Pakistan Day greetings.

Appreciating China’s strong economic support, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to CPEC 2.0. He highlighted focus areas such as agriculture, industry, and key infrastructure projects.

Ambassador Jiang praised Pakistan’s economic resilience and reform efforts. He also assured China’s continued support, especially in trade and investment. Both sides expressed satisfaction with ongoing cooperation and looked forward to high-level meetings for the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

Peace talks with Iran and the role of Pakistan

The Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan’s positive role in supporting peace and regional stability. He stressed the importance of continued close coordination on matters of mutual interest. He also reaffirmed the strong, all-weather partnership between Pakistan and China.
