Saudi Arabia fines employers up to SR10,000 for hiring non-Saudis without permits, protecting workers and ensuring fair workplace rules.

Saudi Arabia – (Web Desk) – Saudi Arabia has updated its labour laws, imposing stricter fines on employers who violate work regulations. Hiring a non-Saudi worker without a valid permit now carries a fine of SR10,000. This step is part of the government’s effort to ensure a stable and fair work environment.

Employers violating rules on child labour, such as employing children under 15, face fines up to SR2,000. Retaining a worker’s passport or residency permit can result in SR3,000 per employee. Failing to document contracts or provide maternity leave also carries penalties ranging from SR1,000 to SR3,000.

Larger violations, like unauthorized recruitment of Saudi or foreign workers, now bring fines between SR200,000 and SR250,000 for repeated offenses. Companies with 50 or more female employees must provide childcare facilities when needed, or face additional fines.
