Transgender Rights Activist Nayyab Ali Appointed to Law Ministry

Islamabad(Web Desk): Prominent transgender rights activist Nayyab Ali has been appointed as a Member in the Ministry of Law and Justice following an amendment to a previously issued notification under the Anti-Rape (Investigation and Trial) Act, 2021.

According to an official notification released on Monday, the appointment was made through an amendment to S.R.O. 1724(I)/2025, with the addition of a new entry at Serial No. 31 in the relevant table.

The amendment was formally notified by the Ministry of Law and Justice on January 6, 2026. The notification has been signed by Muhammad Omar Farooq, Section Officer to the Government of Pakistan, and will be published in the upcoming issue of The Gazette of Pakistan.
