DIRBS Registration to Remain Suspended on Dec 6–7: PTA Urges Users to Register Devices Early
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that the registration of mobile devices will be temporarily suspended due to scheduled maintenance work by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
According to an official PTA statement, the Device Identification Registration Blocking System (DIRBS) will remain unavailable from 12:00 am on December 6 until the evening of December 7, 2025. During this period, users will not be able to register their mobile devices.
PTA has advised the public to complete their device registration ahead of the scheduled suspension to avoid possible delays and inconvenience.
A spokesperson for the authority stated that early action is essential, adding that “better safe than sorry—timely registration will ensure uninterrupted access to mobile services.”
The system maintenance, carried out by FBR, is aimed at improving the efficiency and security of mobile device verification processes nationwide.
PTA has encouraged mobile users to plan accordingly and complete any pending registrations before the suspension window begins.
