Putin to Visit India in December; No Major Defense Announcements Expected

MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to visit India from December 4 to 5. Indian Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar stated that while no major defense announcements are expected during the visit, the Indian government will emphasize advancing defense cooperation with Russia.

He added that no significant progress is anticipated regarding the S-400 missile system, but India will seek clarification from Russia on delays in its delivery. Discussions may also cover placing additional orders for S-400 units, with a focus on resolving pending supply issues. The Indian side will also prioritize obtaining updated timelines for the pending deliveries.
