JUI-F Expels Senator Ahmed Khan for Voting in Favour of 27th Constitutional Amendment

Islamabad: The opposition party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has expelled Senator Ahmed Khan from the party after he voted in favour of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, going against the party’s official stance.

According to a statement issued by the JUI-F, Senator Ahmed Khan violated party discipline by supporting the amendment during the Senate session. The party has directed him to immediately resign from his Senate seat, warning that if he fails to do so, the matter will be referred to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for his disqualification.

The decision to expel Ahmed Khan was made on the recommendation of JUI-F Senators Maulana Atta ur Rehman and Maulana Abdul Waseh.

It is worth noting that the Senate recently passed the 27th Constitutional Amendment with a two-thirds majority, with government members and some opposition senators, including PTI’s Senator Saifullah Abro, voting in favour of the bill. Abro later announced his resignation from the party.
