FIR Registered Against KP Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi Under PECA Act
Afridi has been accused of spreading hate and misleading information against state institutions.
ISLAMABAD: An FIR has been registered against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). The case was filed in the federal capital, Islamabad.
According to details, the complaint was lodged at the Cyber Crime Reporting Centre in Islamabad by a citizen, leading to the registration of a case under cybercrime laws at the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
Afridi has been accused of spreading hate and misleading information against state institutions. The FIR states that he shared false and baseless statements through videos circulated on social media, allegedly aiming to harm the reputation of state and national security institutions.

It further mentions that Sohaib Afridi held a media talk outside Adiala Jail in which he made “fabricated and misleading” remarks about state bodies. The FIR also notes that the video was later shared from the official social media page of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
