SHC suspends KU’s decision to cancel judge’s law degree.
The court dismisses the case after lawyers walk out, while the university cancels the law degree over misconduct findings.
Sindh High Court – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – The Sindh High Court has released its full written decision on a case about a judge’s degree. The court has thrown out all the petitions because the people who filed them did not follow the rules. The judge’s lawyers walked out of the courtroom during the hearing after disagreeing with the court’s views.
The judge overseeing the case noted that the legal team left on purpose, disrupting the process. The court made it clear that it has the power to dismiss cases when people do not cooperate. It stated that judges are in charge of the proceedings, not the lawyers.
In a separate event, the University of Karachi has canceled the law degree enrollment of Tariq Mahmood. The university found him guilty of using dishonest methods to get the degree. As a penalty, he is banned from applying to any university or college for three years. He is also not allowed to take any university exams during this time.
