
ISLAMABAD: (News Desk): Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with General Manager, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Adnan Ahmed, at CDA Headquarters. Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Member Finance Tahir Naeem and other relevant officers were also present in the meeting.
On the direction of the Managing Director, SNGPL, the General Manager, SNGPL, apprised the Chairman CDA about the progress on the installation of new gas pipeline network in the old Sector G-6 and Blue Area of Islamabad. It was agreed in the meeting to promptly resume the work for installing new gas pipeline network in Sector G-6 and Blue Area. The MD, SNGPL, said that the process of replacing the long-deteriorated gas pipelines in Islamabad has been initiated.

He said that replacing these worn-out pipelines will help prevent gas leaks and losses, in addition to ensuring improved gas supply to the residents. Chairman CDA, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, assured his full support for the early completion of the new gas pipeline installation work. He mentioned that the Engineering and Environment Wings have already issued the relevant NOC’s to SNGPL in this regard.
Chairman CDA directed that the gas pipeline installation work must be completed before the onset of winter. He said that after the installation of the gas pipelines, the citizens of Islamabad will not face a shortage of gas supply during the winter. He emphasized that gas consumers should not face any difficulties during the pipeline replacement work.

Chairman CDA also directed SNGPL to ensure the provision of gas connections to the Gandhara Citizen Center in F-9 at the earliest. He highlighted that the provision of gas connections to illegal constructions and areas be stopped immediately.
The GM, SNGPL, said that SNGPL is adopting an effective strategy to further improve gas pressure in Islamabad, and measures will be completed to ensure adequate gas supply before the arrival of winter. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhwa said that CDA is utilizing all resources to ensure the provision of all basic facilities to citizens. Both CDA and SNGPL also reiterated their commitment to mutual cooperation and working together in the future.
