Pakistan Embassy Italy commemorates Defence Day, diaspora praised for national contributions

Italy-The Embassy hosted a landmark public event on its premises today in presence of Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Hon’able Minister OPHRD, who is on a bilateral visit to Italy. The proceedings commemorated Marka-e-Haq and Pakistan’s Defence Day, in addition to Town Hall interaction with the Pakistani community in Italy.

The program was initiated with Flag Hoisting ceremony.​In his welcome remarks, the Ambassador lauded the excellent contribution of Pakistan diaspora in Italy which stands at 300,000.​Hon’able Minister highlighted the significance of Marka-e-Haq as a sign of national unity and ongoing efforts by the Kashmiris and condemned human rights violations, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. Special prayers were also offered for the Shuhada of Marka-e-Haq and recent floods.​

Hon’able Minister also inspected the Consular Section and interacted with the visitors. He instructed the Mission for reinitiating efforts for establishment of Police Khidmat Markaz (PKM) in all four provinces including GB. He appreciated Mission’s initiative of re-launching NADRA counters.​The event was attended by nearly 150 participants including community members, students, businessmen and journalists.
