Karachi, Mirpurkhas Shine at Jashn-e-Azadi Sepaktakraw Championship

Tando Jam: Karachi Club claimed victory in the boys’ event, while Mirpurkhas Club triumphed in the girls’ competition at the Marka-e-Haq Jashn-e-Azadi Sepaktakraw Championship held at Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam.

Organized by the Hyderabad Sepaktakraw Association in collaboration with the Sindh Sepaktakraw Association, the championship saw participation from four boys’ and girls’ teams. The event celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day through the spirit of sports.

At the closing ceremony, Anwar Hussain Khanzada, Director Sports, distributed trophies and certificates among the winners. He lauded the organizers for promoting a unique and emerging sport like Sepaktakraw, and pledged continued support for future events.

Also present were Pakistan Sepaktakraw Federation Secretary General Noushad Ahmed Khan, Sindh Sepaktakraw Association Vice President Dr. Dilip Kumar, Mirpurkhas Division Secretary Akhtar Ali, Benazirabad’s Aqeel Ahmed, Hyderabad Division Secretary Muhammad Khalid, and Women’s Wing member Humaira Rajput.

Speaking at the ceremony, Noushad Ahmed emphasized the Federation’s vision to expand Sepaktakraw beyond Karachi into other parts of Sindh. Dr. Dilip Kumar concluded the event by thanking all guests, players, and especially Anwar Hussain Khanzada for his encouragement and commitment to sports development.
