No compromise on independence, sovereignty, says Field Marshal Munir

RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Asim Munir extended warm Independence Day greetings to the nation, emphasizing national unity and reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.

In his message, the Army Chief highlighted that the trust and confidence of the people are the armed forces’ greatest strength.

“The Pakistan Army stands fully prepared to confront any threat. Our independence and sovereignty are non-negotiable,” stated Field Marshal Munir, vowing a strong and resolute response to any challenge against the country’s integrity.

Paying homage to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s founding leaders, he described the country as a resilient bastion of the Muslim world and a symbol of interfaith harmony, acknowledging the important role played by minority communities in national progress.

Reflecting on the cost of the fight against terrorism, he noted the significant human and economic toll borne by Pakistan. He also reiterated Pakistan’s firm condemnation of the Pulwama incident and called for a neutral international investigation.

Field Marshal Munir accused India of hostile actions and the targeting of civilians, pointing to the recent “Marka-e-Haq” operation as evidence of the courage and resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and prosperity in the region.

Expressing unwavering support for the people of occupied Kashmir, he stressed that the right to self-determination remains the only fair and lasting solution.

He also expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine, urging the international community to uphold their rights without further delay.
