BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla Confirms India Will Not Play Bilateral Series with Pakistan

Both countries have not played a bilateral series since Pakistan’s limited-overs tour to India in 2012-13.

New Delhi: BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla has reaffirmed that India will not engage in any bilateral cricket series with Pakistan following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which claimed several lives.

In a statement to Sports Tak, Shukla said, “We are with the victims, and we condemn the attack. Whatever our government decides, we will follow. We don’t play with Pakistan in bilateral series because of the government’s stance.”

He further clarified that India will continue to refrain from playing bilateral cricket with Pakistan in the future. However, Shukla added, “When it comes to ICC events, we play due to ICC engagements,” emphasizing the role of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in managing such tournaments.

India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since Pakistan’s limited-overs tour to India in 2012-13. The last time India toured Pakistan was in 2008. Currently, the two nations only face each other in multinational tournaments organized by the ICC.

As for the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, India has refused to travel to Pakistan. Instead, all matches, including India’s game against Pakistan and the final, will be held in Dubai.
