Deadly Attack in Gwadar: Six Killed as Gunmen Open Fire on Bus

Five people died instantly, while one succumbed to injuries during treatment.

Gwadar – A devastating attack occurred in the Kalmat area of Gwadar district on Thursday, when unknown gunmen opened fire on a bus, killing six passengers and injuring others. The attack took place as the bus was traveling between Pasni and Ormara, on its way to Karachi.

The attackers stopped the bus, forced passengers to disembark after checking their ID cards, and then opened fire. Five people died instantly, while one succumbed to injuries during treatment. Among the victims, one was reportedly from Multan. In addition to the bus attack, three long-body trailers carrying urea for Afghanistan were set on fire in the Tajaban area.

Following the attacks, roads were blocked in several areas, including Turbat, Panjgur, and Pasni. Levies officials also reported roadblocks in Bolan, Kolpur, and Mastung. A Levies vehicle was set on fire in the Mastung area, further escalating tensions in the region. Security forces have been deployed to clear the roads and restore order.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the brutal attack, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and directing authorities to provide the best medical care to the injured. He also ordered a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the incident, calling it a cowardly act and an indication of barbarism.

This attack comes just days after four laborers from Punjab were killed in Manguchar, Balochistan. The recent wave of violence has raised concerns about security in the region. Meanwhile, the Jaffar Express is set to resume its Peshawar-Quetta service starting tomorrow.
