Pakistan, Saudi Arabia to Establish Joint Film & Documentary Production Committee
RIYADH: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to establish a joint committee aimed at promoting collaboration between the two countries for the co-production of songs, films, and documentaries. This decision was made during a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, Attaullah Tarar, and Saudi Arabia’s Media Minister, Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, on the sidelines of the Saudi Media Forum.
The two sides also discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in media, focusing on initiatives such as exchange programs and journalist training to further strengthen ties between the countries.
In their discussion, the ministers emphasized the importance of joint efforts to combat fake news and propaganda in the media, underscoring the role both nations play in curbing misinformation.
Attaullah Tarar extended his congratulations to Saudi Minister of Media, Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, for organizing the successful fourth edition of the Saudi Media Forum. During his remarks, Tarar highlighted the transformation of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, noting that the traditionally brotherly relationship is evolving into a strategic economic partnership.
He further emphasized that Saudi Arabia has become a second home for Pakistan, appreciating the visionary leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who have propelled the kingdom towards achieving the ambitious goals of Vision 2030, positioning it as a hub for commercial activities. Tarar also commended Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his pivotal role in the country’s development.

The Minister stressed that close cooperation between the two countries would contribute significantly to the peace and stability of the region. He also pointed to various opportunities for digital investment and technical collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
In response, Saudi Media Minister Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Pakistan in all sectors, particularly in the field of information. He also noted the significant contributions of Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia’s development.
Al-Dosari revealed that the next meeting of the Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council will be held in Pakistan, further solidifying the growing bilateral ties between the two nations.
