Attack on Convoy in Lower Kurram: Rs1.2 Billion Goods Stolen

KURRAM: The death toll from an attack on a convoy en route to Parachinar in Lower Kurram has risen to nine, including five security personnel, a truck driver, a passerby, and two attackers. Over 20 others, including five security personnel, sustained injuries.
The attack took place in Mandori, Ochat Charakhel, and Bagan areas, targeting a goods truck convoy. The assailants looted cargo from 19 trucks, setting vehicles on fire, with goods worth Rs1.2 billion stolen.
In retaliation, security forces conducted aerial shelling, but four more security personnel were killed during the operation. Kurram’s National Assembly member criticized the government’s silence on the situation, linking it to the recent Libya boat tragedy and ongoing instability in the region.
