Meteorological Department Predicts Rain & Snowfall Across Various Cities

MURREE: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted rainfall in several cities, including Murree, and snowfall in mountainous regions. According to the department, rain and snow are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas.

In Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather is expected to be cold with partly cloudy skies, and light rain may occur during the night hours.

Meanwhile, in Ziarat, heavy snowfall has intensified the cold, and gas supply has been suspended. The snowfall has also caused the closure of the main highway connecting Ziarat to Quetta and Sanjawi for traffic. A control room has been established to handle any emergency situations. The Deputy Commissioner of Ziarat urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel in the snow.

Rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Bajaur, Khyber, Shangla, Buner, Battagram, Mansehra, and Abbottabad, with the possibility of snowfall in mountainous areas. Light rain is also forecast for Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Nowshera, Kohat, Karak, Kurram, Orakzai, and Waziristan during the night.

In Balochistan, most districts are expected to experience cold weather with partly cloudy skies. Light rain and snow may occur at isolated locations in Chaman, Pishin, Ziarat, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Zhob, and Barkhan.

The weather in most districts of Punjab is expected to be cold with partly cloudy skies. In Murree, Galyat, and nearby areas, there may be strong winds along with rain and snowfall during the night hours.

Dense fog is expected during the night in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Mangla, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Jhang, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanewal, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, and surrounding areas.

In Sindh, the weather is likely to remain cold and dry. The Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan regions are predicted to experience severe cold weather, with cloudy skies, rain, and snowfall.
