Pakistan Thrash South Africa by 81 Runs in 2nd ODI, Take Unbeatable Lead

Babar, Rizwan, Ghulam fifties set South Africa 330 to draw level

Pakistan secured a convincing 81-run victory over South Africa in the 2nd ODI, held at the Newlands, Cape Town.

Pakistan’s impressive batting display saw them post a challenging total of 329 runs in 49.5 overs. In response, South Africa struggled to keep up with the required run rate and were eventually bowled out for 248 runs ¹.

The win marks Pakistan’s second consecutive victory in the three-match series, following their thrilling three-wicket win in the first ODI

Overpowering bowling display by Pakistani bowlers — Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah  — overwhelmed the South African batters who could hit 248 runs in 43.1 overs while chasing an imposing total during the second ODI at the Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town, on Thursday.

Earlier, Pakistan set a 330-run target against South Africa with the help of Kamran Ghulam’s swashbuckling knock at the end of the innings.
