PM Shehbaz Meets Indonesian President in Cairo to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Cairo: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on the sidelines of the D-8 Summit in Cairo, where they discussed ways to enhance political, trade, and economic ties between Pakistan and Indonesia.

PM Shehbaz congratulated President Subianto on his recent assumption of office and praised Indonesia for being a key trade partner of Pakistan. The Prime Minister highlighted Indonesia’s significant role in supplying palm oil to Pakistan and expressed gratitude for the country’s support for Pakistan’s membership in the ASEAN, hoping that Pakistan would soon become a full dialogue partner.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Palestine, calling for a comprehensive strategy to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and to work towards a lasting resolution of the Palestinian issue.

In a positive step towards deepening bilateral relations, President Subianto accepted PM Shehbaz’s invitation to visit Pakistan in the near future.
