US Dollar Drops Against Pakistani Rupee

The US dollar’s exchange rate fell by nine paisas, reaching Rs277.60 against the Pakistani rupee during interbank trading on Wednesday.

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), expressed a positive outlook on Pakistan’s economic future, indicating that the country is moving in a favorable direction. In her statement, she congratulated the Pakistani government and its citizens for successfully implementing the IMF’s $7 billion loan program. Georgieva praised the government’s efforts to tax high-income individuals while also supporting the most vulnerable populations in the country.

She noted that Pakistan’s economic growth is on the rise, inflation is decreasing, and the nation is demonstrating significant improvements. “The government has introduced important reforms, leading to an overall better economic landscape,” Georgieva said, emphasizing that these reforms are essential for maintaining economic stability and ensuring long-term growth.
