Heavy Rain Causes Disruptions for Domestic and International Flights in Pakistan

Significant delays in the arrival and departure of more than 30 flights across Pakistan have been caused by heavy rains and administrative obstacles.

Travelers encountered significant disruptions, with flight schedules affected at several major airports, including Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore.

One prominent delay involved a foreign airline’s flight SV-701 from Jeddah, which was held up for two and a half hours. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) also experienced multiple delays, such as PK-302 from Karachi to Lahore, which was delayed by two hours. Additionally, PIA’s PK-300 from Islamabad to Karachi, originally scheduled to depart at 11am, was postponed by the same duration.

International flights also faced setbacks, with the Karachi-Istanbul flight TK-709 delayed by three hours, now rescheduled for 9am. Moreover, PIA’s PK-744 from Madinah encountered a four-hour delay, affecting passengers returning to Karachi.
