Azad Kashmir Experiences Double Earthquakes, Sparking Concern
AJK-Early Tuesday morning, several areas in Azad Jammu and Kashmir were jolted by a series of earthquake tremors, causing widespread alarm among residents.
The tremors were felt in Muzaffarabad and extended to nearby regions, including Leepa Valley, Karnah, and Jhelum Valley. The first tremor struck at 6:16 AM, measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale. A second tremor followed just seven minutes later at 6:23 AM, measuring 5.3, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Met Department in Islamabad.

Both tremors, occurring at a depth of 20 kilometers, were strong enough to be felt over a broad area, prompting many people to rush out of their homes and buildings in panic.
The tremors also affected India-held Kashmir, including Baramula and Poonch areas. Reports indicate that a woman in Odina village, Bandipora district, was electrocuted by a live wire that fell during the quake. Social media videos revealed that the earthquakes caused significant damage, including cracks in the walls of many houses.
