Earlier, a former deputy superintendent and a jail assistant from Adiala Jail were detained for allegedly facilitating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan during his imprisonment.

Authorities have now broadened their investigation to include several other jail employees, intensifying the probe into alleged misuse of power within the prison system.

Sources indicate that former Deputy Superintendent Zafar and Jail Assistant Nazim are among those apprehended for granting unauthorized privileges to the former prime minister. Zafar is reported to live near Adiala Jail.

The inquiry is also focusing on six other employees based on information from another former deputy superintendent, Muhammad Akram. Akram, who had served at Adiala Jail intermittently over 15 years and was removed from his position in June, is alleged to have had close connections with Imran Khan. He is suspected of facilitating illegal communications, and the investigation is uncovering how Khan received mobile phone access in violation of prison rules.
