Federal Govt Approves FC Deployment in Azad Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has approved the deployment of Frontier Constabulary (FC) in Azad Kashmir. This was decided in a meeting held between Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq and Minister Naqvi after extensive discussions on addressing pressing security issues.

 

Prime Minister Haq, while addressing a meeting at the Ministry of Interior, elaborated on all the security threats that Azad Kashmir was facing at this time, after which the federal government called for urgent measures. Interior Minister Naqvi also stated while talking to the reporters that the federal government is committed to providing all the security needs for Azad Kashmir.

 

An interior ministry spokesperson confirmed that this deployment would be added to security and peacekeeping measures in the region. He said the government was firmly determined to stick to its commitments to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for providing all sorts of assistance in establishing peace in the area while enhancing the security arrangements to manifold levels.

AJK is not a Foreign Territory

The federal minister reiterated the viewpoint of the federal government: “The government of Pakistan stands with the government and people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. We will extend all necessary cooperation for the prosperity and development of the region.”

 

Prime Minister Haq thanked the federal minister for such a prompt and positive response, saying that through such commitment of the federal government, now the problems of Azad Kashmir were near resolution.
