Islamabad: 14.295 million Fine Charged To Power Pilferers During Current Month Of March. During the Holy month of Ramzan IESCO officers and staff is not only ensuring power continuity to valuable customers but activities against power theft and recovery from running and dead defaulters are also going on with full swing

Chief Executive IESCO Dr Muhammad Amjad khan briefed that during the month of march 24 our detection teams during checking caught 174 direct supply connections and 140 tempard meters connection. A fine of 14.295 million charged to relevant customers and 41 got arrested by police.

Parallel to power theft Compaign recovery teams recovered 2418.60 million from 95383 running and dead defaulters during on going recovery Compaign started since September 2023

IESCO Chief said that this is a result of extra ordinary efforts of IESCO officers and staff that both Compaig which are in the vast interest of Pakistan institutions and public are getting good results and we will eliminate power theft from IESCO region and will also ensure 100 percent recovery of bill from defaulters.

Islamabad Electric Supply Company was founded as Rawalpindi Electric Power Company (REPCO) in 1923 during British India-era. In 1972, the company was nationalized and subsequently was taken over by the Government of Pakistan. It was publicly listed on Karachi Stock Exchange until 1985 when it was de-listed from the exchange.

IESCO was formed in 1998 to take over the assets, functions and responsibilities of the erstwhile Islamabad Area Electricity Board, which was then a division of WAPDA.

IESCO’s core function is to supply, distribute and sell electricity in the area from Attock to Jhelum, and from the river Indus to River Neelum in Kashmir. It serves 2.8 million consumers directly, but touches the lives of more than 25 million people living in the 6 districts it services.
