221 Arrested in Islamabad During 48 Operations Against Illegal Residents
Islamabad: (Web Desk) – During a series of 48 combing operations across Islamabad, police arrested 221 suspicious individuals, including 21 illegal Afghan nationals, authorities reported.
The operations included thorough checks of 4,188 people and 1,829 vehicles and motorcycles, as well as inspections of 548 shops and 93 hotels. Police recovered illegal arms from several suspects during the raids.
In parallel, operations targeting illegal Afghan residents continued in the Rawalpindi district, resulting in 28 arrests over the past two days. Since April 2025, authorities have taken 5,790 Afghan nationals into custody, including men, women, and children, and transferred them to the holding centre at Dhoke Syedan.
Islamabad United Set 172 Target for Multan
Of those detained, 5,673 individuals have been deported to Afghanistan since the voluntary return deadline expired in August 2025. The holding centre currently accommodates 98 Afghan nationals—67 men, 12 women, and 19 children—awaiting deportation.
Authorities emphasized that these operations aim to enforce immigration laws, maintain public safety, and prevent illegal activities in the capital region.
