PESHAWAR: Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan has alleged that 12 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers were killed and more than 200 went missing during a peaceful protest in Islamabad on November 24. Speaking alongside PTI leaders Asad Qaiser, Shibli Faraz, and Sheikh Waqas Akram in Peshawar, Ayub accused the government of firing on unarmed protesters, leading to casualties and disappearances.
Ayub also claimed that over 5,000 PTI workers have been arrested and that injured party members are facing intimidation. He described the situation as a “virtual martial law,” criticizing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership style and drawing comparisons to Adolf Hitler.

In remembrance of the deceased, a prayer ceremony will be held on December 13, with overseas Pakistanis joining on December 15. Shibli Faraz further linked the ongoing unrest to alleged rigging in the February 8 elections, fueling further tensions.
