WhatsApp Introduces New Video Status Feature

Giving users even more freedom to express themselves through longer clips

Meta’s platform WhatsApp is rolling out a feature to share video status updates up to 90 seconds long, and it’s available to some beta testers, reported WABetaInfo.

Eliminating the need to split content into multiple parts, this feature allows users to post longer and uninterrupted video clips as their status.

By providing more time to convey their moments in a single video, users reported that this enhanced their experience with status updates.

Giving users even more freedom to express themselves through longer clips, the new limit extends video status durations from 60 seconds to 90 seconds.

Moreover, this move is also an update of the last year’s feature, which had already increased the limit from 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that the rollout is being conducted gradually, so the feature is still not available to all beta testers simultaneously.

The need for users to manually trim or cut a video to fit the status duration is significantly reduced with the longer limit.
