West Indies Beat Zimbabwe, India Faces T20 WC Pressure

West Indies Thrash Zimbabwe as India Struggles in T20 World Cup

COLOMBO: (Web Desk) – West Indies added to India’s troubles in the Super Eights stage of the ICC T20 World Cup by defeating Zimbabwe by a massive 107-run margin at Wankhede Stadium.

Batting first, the West Indies posted a formidable 254 runs in 20 overs, hitting a flurry of fours and sixes — the second highest total in T20 World Cup history. Zimbabwe struggled in response and were bowled out for 147 runs, handing West Indies a comprehensive victory and the top spot in Group 1 of the Super Eights.

South Africa Crush India in Super Eight T20 Match

After one match each, all four teams in Group 1 remain closely contested. West Indies lead with 2 points and a net run rate of 5.350, while South Africa also has 2 points but a net run rate of 3.800 following their win against India. India sits third with zero points and a net run rate of –3.800, with Zimbabwe in fourth place.

India still has two remaining matches against West Indies and Zimbabwe. To qualify for the semi-finals, India must not only win both games but also secure victories by large margins, as their low net run rate could hinder progression even if points are tied.
