Virat Kohli’s net worth reaches reported ₹1,046 crore

NEW DELHI: (Sports Desk) – Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has reportedly built a vast financial portfolio through cricket, Indian Premier League earnings, brand endorsements, investments, real estate and luxury assets, with his total net worth estimated at around ₹1,046 crore.

Kohli’s income has expanded significantly since his international career began. His earnings from the Board of Control for Cricket in India started with a Grade D contract worth ₹15 lakh during the 2008–09 season.

He subsequently moved through the Grade B and Grade A categories before securing an A+ contract from the 2017–18 season. The A+ category currently carries an annual BCCI retainer of ₹7 crore.

His Indian Premier League earnings have also increased substantially. Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed Kohli for ₹12 lakh in the inaugural 2008 season. According to reported figures, his IPL earnings have reached approximately ₹209.2 crore over the course of his career.

Kohli reportedly earned ₹8.28 crore between 2011 and 2013, followed by ₹12.5 crore from 2014 to 2017. His annual IPL salary increased to ₹17 crore between 2018 and 2021 and stood at ₹15 crore from 2022 to 2024. For the 2025 season, he was paid ₹21 crore.

Brand endorsements represent another major component of Kohli’s earnings. Reports suggest he charges between ₹5 crore and ₹10 crore for individual brand deals and has worked with companies including Puma, MRF, Audi, Pepsi, Hero MotoCorp, Valvoline, MPL and Fastrack.

His endorsement income has reportedly crossed ₹100 crore annually, reflecting his strong commercial value both in India and internationally.

Kohli also has a substantial social media presence. He has more than 260 million Instagram followers, making him one of the most-followed athletes globally.

According to reported estimates, Kohli can earn between ₹6 crore and ₹11 crore for a single sponsored Instagram post. He also earns from promotional activities across other social media platforms.

Beyond cricket and endorsements, Kohli has invested in several businesses and startups. His reported investment portfolio includes Blue Tribe, Chisel Fitness, restaurant venture Nueva, Galactus Funware, SportConvo and Digit Insurance.

He also co-founded the youth fashion brand Wrogn, which has developed into a recognised clothing brand in India.

Real estate forms another significant part of Kohli’s assets. Reports have valued his Gurgaon bungalow at around ₹80 crore, while his Mumbai apartment is estimated at ₹34 crore. He is also reported to own properties in Alibaug valued at approximately ₹20 crore.

Kohli’s collection of luxury vehicles further reflects his earnings. His garage reportedly includes several Audi models, a Range Rover Vogue, Bentley Continental GT and Bentley Flying Spur, with some vehicles valued at more than ₹3 crore.

Reports estimate Kohli’s annual income at around ₹150 crore, equivalent to an average monthly income of approximately ₹12.5 crore. He was also reported to have paid ₹66 crore in advance tax in 2024.

Kohli retired from T20 international cricket after India’s 2024 T20 World Cup triumph and subsequently retired from Test cricket in May 2025. He now represents India in ODI cricket.
