Virat Kohli gives credit to wife Anushka for winning World Cup
Virat says to his wife “I couldn’t be more grateful for you. This victory is as much yours as it’s mine”
The team’s success in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 was attributed by Indian star batsman Virat Kohli to his wife Anushka Sharma, stating that it would not have been possible without her.
By defeating South Africa by seven runs in the World Cup match, the Men in Blue won their second World Cup trophy. The team won their first in 2007 after beating Pakistan in the final.
Following the team’s historic victory, Kohli, who announced his retirement from Twenty20 cricket, posted a photo of himself and Anushka on Instagram.
Expressing his love for his wife Virat said “None of this would remotely be possible without you my love. You keep me humble and grounded and you always say it how it is with absolute honesty.”
After leading India to victory in the World Cup, Kohli announced his retirement from the shorter version of cricket on Saturday, the day he played his final T20 match.
