Trump’s Republicans Scramble to Stop a Big Democratic Midterms Wave

Polls show Democrats close to winning the House, while the fight for the Senate stays tight on the eve of Tuesday’s vote.

US – (Special Correspondent/Web Desk) – Democratic midterms are only a day away, and both parties are chasing every last vote. Polls show Democrats are very likely to win the House of Representatives on Tuesday. They also have a real chance of taking the Senate.

Republicans fear a heavy loss. On Sunday, President Donald Trump held rallies in Iowa and Kansas. His party should win these states easily, so the visits show how worried it is.

Trump told the crowd his party will win. He called Democrats dangerous radicals and promised $5,000 payments to everyone if Republicans succeed.

Democrats feel hopeful, but they are also nervous. Senator Raphael Warnock said the mood is a mix of excitement and fear.

A new rift in Michigan added to the worry. A Democratic congresswoman backed Republican Mike Rogers instead of her own party’s candidate, Abdul El-Sayed.

Still, most experts say Democrats have the momentum. An NBC News poll found that 60 percent of Americans disapprove of Trump’s work. High prices and the eight-month war with Iran are big reasons.

Voters are very active this year. A record 54 million people have already voted early.

A Democratic win in the House would give the party control of the federal budget. It would also let Democrats lead powerful committees that could investigate corruption claims and Trump’s links to Jeffrey Epstein.

The Senate race is harder to call. Republicans hold a 53-47 majority, and only one-third of the seats are up for election. Even so, Democrats are making strong challenges in Republican states like Texas and Kansas.

The final New York Times/Siena poll shows Democrats ahead in all seven of the closest Senate races. Five of those leads are within the margin of error.

A Democratic Senate could also block Trump’s picks for the courts, including the Supreme Court.

The campaign has been costly and bitter. About $11 billion has been spent on ads, and Elon Musk has given nearly half a billion dollars to help Republicans.

Many people also worry that Republicans may not accept a loss. On Sunday, a federal judge threw out a strange Trump administration lawsuit in Alaska. It tried to stop certification if Democrat Mary Peltola beats Republican Dan Sullivan.
