Tribute to Heroes: Defense Day Ceremony Held at Khem Karan Memorial
Lahore-(Tahir Chuhdary)-A solemn Defense Day ceremony was held at the Khem Karan Memorial in Kasur, attended by Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Syed Amir Raza. The event paid tribute to the martyrs and ghazis who fought valiantly in the 1965 war, particularly in the famous battle of Khem Karan.
The Pakistan Army presented a salute, and the Corps Commander, along with other distinguished ghazis, laid floral wreaths at the memorial. The ghazis in attendance included Colonel Mumtaz, Brigadier Yasoob, and Brigadier Imtiaz Malik, who fought on the Khem Karan front during the war.
Retired and serving officers and men of the units that participated in the war also attended the commemoration. The memorial was built to honor the 257 soldiers who laid down their lives for their country and the 16 ghazis who received high military honors for their exceptional courage and bravery.
