Metro Bus Services Suspended, Road Closures Reported Across Islamabad

Islamabad-(Mudasssar Iqbal)-A travel advisory has been issued for Islamabad on September 8, 2024, due to road closures and traffic congestion. The following updates have been reported:

– All Metro Bus services, including Red, Green, Orange, Blue, and Pink lines, are suspended for the day.

– Islamabad Expressway is closed at Khanna Bridge, with only one lane open at Faizabad.

– Srinagar Highway is open for both sides of traffic and can be used to access Islamabad Airport.

– Rawalpindi Train Station can be approached via Srinagar Highway, Faqir Epi Road, and Capt Kernal Shair Khan Road.

– Bharakahu Entry/Exit is closed at Satra Meel point, while GT Road is closed at Sangjani point.

– Weekly Bazars are open as per routine, but Rawat T Cross is closed for traffic.

– Access to the Red Zone is limited to Margalla Road, with all other Entry/Exit points closed.

– Motorway M1 & M2 are open for traffic, with access available from Srinagar Highway.

Due to the road closures, congestion has been reported on major roads. Travelers are advised to plan their route accordingly and allow an extra 30 minutes to avoid any trouble.
