Tech Webinar Unlocks New Frontiers for Pakistan-Australia IT Collaboration

Canberra: The High Commission for Pakistan, in partnership with the Consulate General of Pakistan in Sydney and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), hosted a groundbreaking webinar titled “Exploring Opportunities in the Australian Tech Industry,” aimed at fostering collaboration between the growing tech sectors of Pakistan and Australia. The event attracted a diverse audience of IT professionals, industry experts, and entrepreneurs from both countries, highlighting the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships in the tech industry.

In his opening remarks, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Australia, H.E. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, emphasized the importance of strengthening trade relations between the two nations, particularly in the tech sector. “The tech sector is a critical area where Pakistan and Australia can foster robust partnerships. By leveraging Pakistan’s immense IT talent and Australia’s dynamic market, we can create win-win opportunities,” Chaudhri said, underscoring the importance of collaboration in today’s fast-evolving digital economy.

Mr. Abu Bakar, CEO of PSEB, took the opportunity to showcase Pakistan’s rapidly growing IT sector. He highlighted the country’s skilled workforce, its expanding IT export capabilities, and government initiatives designed to support the tech ecosystem. “Pakistan is on the path to becoming a global IT hub, and Australian markets present a promising avenue for expansion and collaboration,” Bakar remarked, stressing the immense potential for Pakistani IT firms to thrive in the Australian market.

Mr. Farooq Fasih Ghauri, Regional Director Asia at NETSOL Technologies, provided insights into specific opportunities within the Australian tech market. “Australia offers a highly receptive environment for cutting-edge tech solutions, from financial technologies to AI-driven innovations. Pakistani IT firms have a great opportunity to establish a strong presence here,” Ghauri noted, offering a detailed view of the sectors where Pakistani businesses could expand.
