Defending champion Sinner survives opening Wimbledon scare
LONDON: (Web Desk) – The third Grand Slam tournament of the year, Wimbledon 2026, got underway with several top-ranked players securing places in the second round.
Defending champion Jannik Sinner of Italy survived a stern test in his opening match, overcoming Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanović in five sets after a contest lasting more than three and a half hours.
Seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic also advanced, defeating China’s Wu Yibing in four sets to begin his campaign on a winning note.
