Sindh School New Timings Announced for August

The Sindh School Education Department shared a fresh circular that changes class hours for all government schools across the province. The new rules cover primary, elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools, and every school head has been told to follow them right away.

This step comes as part of the department’s plan to set clear and fair timings for both single-shift and double-shift schools. Many parents and teachers have been waiting to know how these changes will affect daily routines, so here is a simple breakdown of what has changed.

The circular splits the timings by season and by shift type. This means schools will follow one schedule from August to October, and a slightly different one from November to March, when the weather turns cooler.

For single-shift primary schools, classes will begin at 8:00 am and end at 2:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, between August 6 and October 31. On Fridays, these schools will close earlier, at 1:00 pm.

Once winter starts, the schedule shifts a little later. From November 1 to March 31, single-shift primary schools will open at 8:30 am and close at 3:00 pm.

Timings for Double-Shift Schools

Double-shift schools, which run two batches of classes in a single building, also have new hours. For double-shift elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools, the first shift will run from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm between August 6 and October 31.

When winter arrives, this shift moves slightly later too. From November 1 to March 31, the first shift will operate from 8:00 am to 1:45 pm. The department has also set separate hours for the second shift and for single-shift elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools, though the first-shift plan gives a clear idea of how the whole system will work.

Officials say these updated hours are meant to make school schedules easier to manage, both in hot and cool months. By adjusting start and end times with the seasons, the department hopes to keep learning conditions comfortable for both students and teachers.

The Sindh School Education Department has made it clear that these timings are not temporary trial hours. They will stay in place until the department issues new orders. Because of this, schools, parents, and students should treat this schedule as the standard routine for now.

What School Heads Must Do

Every school head and education officer has been instructed to apply the circular without delay. The department has asked for strict follow-through, which means schools cannot pick and choose their own hours anymore.

This move brings more order to how government schools operate across Sindh. It also helps parents plan drop-off and pick-up times with more confidence, since the rules apply the same way in every district.
