For the past two decades we have heard of the cruelties of Taliban rule and its dangers to the civilians, yet there has not been made any conscious effort by the countries surrounding it to interfere. The “Taliban“ which directly translates to The movement’s founding nucleus—the word is Pashto for “students”—was composed of peasant farmers and men studying Islam in Afghan and Pakistani madrasas, or religious schools. And yet these small conspiring groups of men now have the control over the wellbeing of people in Afghanistan. The Taliban have proved themselves to be cruel and disgusting leaders that have been the way for society to push women into slavery and oppression for the Afghani socialite.
The terrors of the Taliban rule have been concentrated on women. Women and young girls have been stripped of human rights and forced to be caged into their homes. Girls are no longer allowed to get more than primary education (to induce submission and illiteracy so manipulation and injustice can be readily swallowed). Young teenage girls are readily allowed to be wed off as soon as they hit puberty and teenage pregnancies have been made common. The girls are wed off to old men to improve the sublime living conditions. The women are forced to wear Abayas and burkas outside of their homes, their bodily autonomy has been stolen. In order to access healthcare in hospitals the women are required to wear burkas and be covered from head to toe with a mesh fabric obstructing the face, this was made legal in November 2025.
Laws are being published to make legal the injustice and the Tyrannical way of rule allows more and more men to rape and assault women who dare to speak about their misfortunes. Women are banned from attending universities and working for NGOs. There has also been a Ban on Afghan women working in the U.N. This law results in over 3,000 of UN national staff members, including approximately 400 Afghan women, to refrain from reporting to offices over concerns for their safety (The Diplomat, 2023). Women doctors are banned from registering for the completion exam for specialization programmes. (EPRS, 2024). In august 2024 The Taliban published a new ‘vice and virtue’ law containing 35 articles., This includes a ban on women’s and girls’ voices being heard in public (EPRS, 2024).In September 2025 there was a nationwide shutdown of internet for 48 hours In order to sedate and prevent women and girls from learning about the world and their living conditions.
The Women of Afghanistan are strong and do not back down even after the misgivings they are forced to deal with . However the Taliban , a group of tyrannical ,radical rulers make it harder each and every day to survive . Their rule grows more and more suffocating by the day and if they are not stopped we may have to witness even greater atrocities being subjected to these women.in the upcoming years We as Pakistani civillians can only hope and pray that life gets easier for these women .
