RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Former interior minister and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid has reportedly been arrested from his residence in Rawalpindi.

Rashid’s lawyer Sardar Abdul Razzaq has confirmed his arrest.

He says the former interior minister has been arrested by plainclothesmen from his residence in a private housing society in Rawalpindi.

According to him, Rashid along with his nephew Shakir and a servant has been shifted to an undisclosed location.

Sheikh Rashid, a prominent leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML) and an ally of the PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf), was apprehended at his Rawalpindi residence on Sunday evening, as confirmed by his lawyer, Sardar Abdul Razzak Khan, in a statement to Dawn.com.
